Staff/Senior Accountant - Audit

Mercer and Bucks County CPA firm is looking for a licensed CPA (or parts passed) with 2-5 years' experience in performing audits, reviews, and compilations of small business and nonprofit clients.

Qualified candidate will possess excellent technical accounting and audit skills, ability to prepare financial statements, ability to plan engagements, proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting and tax software, and will be responsible for timely and quality client work. Able to work as part of a team and ability to manage deadlines. Quickbooks experience preferred. Yellow Book and OMB audit experience preferred. Must have public experience. Salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties of the Position:

1. Quality control of all work through workpaper review.

2. Develops and is accountable for the assignment work plan and ensures assigned tasks and responsibilities are achieved including deadlines met.

3. Successfully builds, directs and maintains a motivated and empowered work team.

4. Advises, coaches, and supports team members including providing consistent recognition and encouragement to team members to increase retention and utilization.

5. Leverage commercial and market knowledge to identify client needs/opportunities to sell additional value-added services. Refers cross-selling opportunities to appropriate team member.

6. Develops and strengthens long-term relationships with client management and peer client levels.

7. Supports partners in the implementation of practice objectives and budgets.

8. Communicates progress of engagements with the Partner in charge, including time estimates, scheduling considerations, etc.

9. Identifies potential accounting and auditing issues and performs research to present proposed solutions to the Partner in charge.

10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Ancillary Duties of the Position:

1. Attend client meetings as requested.

2. Mentor staff.

3. Give back to the community.

4. Makes presentations, writes articles and represents the firm in assigned professional and civic functions.

5. Actively pursues self-development opportunities in line with company goals.

6. Responsible for company paid continued professional education and improving technical skills.

Compensation is based on individual skill and experience level and will be determined upon a job offer being extended

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
