, your day involves processing electronic and paper claims with precision, ensuring accuracy in billing to primary and secondary insuranceSeamlessly post payments and navigate denied claims to resolution, showcasing your expertise in handling billing intricaciesYour role extends to obtaining and entering authorizations to guarantee billable services, making you a crucial part of the healthcare revenue cycle.
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A MEDICAL BILLER:
A high school diplomaKnowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirementsFamiliarity with the Central Reach System and proficiency in CPT and ICD-10 CodingAn understanding of accounting and bookkeeping proceduresAbility to maintain patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulationsAn associate degree in business administration, accounting, or healthcare is preferredCertification in professional billing is a plus.
