This entry level position is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in executing the communications strategy and marketing plans for the organization.
In that role, the Communications Coordinator will develop website content, manage social media, help to create key publications, and facilitate relationships with stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Maintain agency website and update content to keep website relevant.
Create social media posts to encourage stakeholder engagement and raise online visibility Collect photos and/or videos taken at BCABVI and maintain photo files for ongoing use; create, edit and upload photos and videos to agency websites and social media outlets.
Assist the Executive Director in creating and coordinating material for key organization publications as defined by communications plan including:
a.
BCABVI Annual Report b.
Fundraising Direct Mail Pieces (2x year) c.
Highlight emails for donors (weekly) d.
Brochures, fact sheets, etc.
e.
Press releases (as needed) Conduct client interviews as needed to be used for newsletters, direct mail, website etc.
Design ads, flyers, banners, brochures, fact sheets, event signage, invitations, etc.
as needed.
Help coordinate and promote community outreach/fundraising events as needed to increase awareness about agency mission, programs, updates EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
At least 2 years professional office experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn and master new communication formats quickly.
Ability to generate and implement new, creative ideas to communicate mission.
Proficiency with web-based design applications, Microsoft Office, and Internet research required.
Organized, efficient, reliable and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.
Experience with online communication tools, including Email Campaigns, Facebook, Linked In and Instagram.
Experience with Network for Good donor management system a plus.
Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously Desire to problem solve and think creatively.
